 A partial maxillectomy was performed to remove a benign tumor on the patient's left palate. Observe the post-surgical defect and the skin graft lining the cheek surface .  An obturator was constructed to prevent fluid leakage and to restore speech and normal chewing function. Retention and stability of this prosthesis was obtained by engaging the remaining teeth and the supporting structures.  Post-operative photograph: note the optimal esthetics of the obturator.
